On June 22, Senators Chuck Grassley and Max Baucus will convene a Finance Committee hearing on tax-exempt organizations. Among other things, the hearing will consider "governance and best practices of charities" as well as "current problems and issues in the charitable community," according to a June 1 Senate Committee on Finance press release.

In the run-up to June 22, Dean Zerbe, the Senate Finance Committee's chief investigative counsel, has agreed to give Hudson Institute's Bradley Center his preview of the hearing. We invite you to bring your questions and join us on the afternoon of June 16.

DEAN ZERBE is senior counsel and tax counsel for the United States Senate Finance Committee. He has served as associate at Lionel Sawyer & Collins of Nevada, and counsel for the Senate Small Business Committee and National Commission on Restructuring the IRS.
