April 28, 2006, 9:30 -- 11:30 a.m. - Hudson Institute, Washington, D.C. Headquarters
Betsy and Walter Stern Conference Center
Chris Woodruff of the University of California at San Diego will present new research examining the self-employment experience of immigrants. Given the role of immigration in the Mexican-American population, the project will also address the question of why rates of self-employment among Mexican-Americans lag behind rates for non-Latino whites. Pia Orrenius of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will comment on the paper.
