Center for Eurasian Policy hosted Ambassador Oguz Çelikkol, Special Representative of Turkey for Iraq, in an off-the-record roundtable discussion on Thursday, January 25. Ambassador Çelikkol was appointed to his current post in December 2005. Previously, he served as Director General for the Middle East and South Asia and as Ambassador to Syria, a post he held between 2000 and 2004. In his distinguished 29-year career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Çelikkol took on assignments at the United Nations, in Washington, D.C., and in Los Angeles.
