The meeting between President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kennebunkport comes at a critical moment in U.S.-Russian relations. After a promising start at the beginning of the Bush administration, U.S.- Russian relations are now at a post-Soviet low. The following experts on Russia will discuss what to expect from the Kennebunkport summit and the future of relations between Russia and the United States.

Zeyno Baran is Director of the Center for Eurasian Policy at Hudson. She has authored numerous articles, monographs, and policy studies on issues related to the former Soviet bloc. Andrei Piontkovsky served as director of the Center for Strategic Research, a Moscow-based think tank, from 1994 to 2005. He has written several books and many articles on political developments in Russia. David Satter, a former Moscow correspondent, is a long time observer of Russia and the former Soviet Union. His book, (1996), is being made into a documentary film. Dr. Richard Weitz is Director of Program Management at Hudson. He is author of Russian-American Security Cooperation after St. Petersburg: Challenges and Opportunities (2007) and Revitalising US-Russian Security Cooperation: Practical Measures (2005).
