Talk on “the Vatican and Islam”May 8, 2007, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. - Hudson Institute, Washington, D.C. Headquarters
The Hudson Institute's Center for Religious Freedom, and Center on Islam, Democracy and the Future of the Muslim World wish to invite you to an off-the-record talk on "The Vatican and Islam" with the Rev. Justo Lacunza-Balda, one of the Vatican's foremost experts on Islam. Based in Rome, Fr. Lacunza-Balda is on sabbatic al from his position as director of the Pontifical Institute on Arabic and Islamic Studies. He is an ordained priest and a member of the Society of Missionaries of Africa. He has a doctorate in Islam and has conducted field research on Islam on four continents over 40 years. Over his long career, he has also taught Islam at the Pontifical Institute and edited the journal, Encounter, Documents for Muslim-Christian Understanding. The discussion will take place on Tuesday, May 8th, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm in the Betsy and Walter Stern Conference Room at the Hudson Institute, 1015 15th St., NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 20005.
