Key Concepts for U.S National Strategy: The Foundation for Congressional Action

September 24, 2008, 11:30 AM-1:00 PM - Hudson Institute, Washington, D.C. Headquarters

Seth Cropsey, Congressman Davis, & Ken Weinstein

Hudson Institute was pleased to host a luncheon with Congressman Geoff Davis (R-KY), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, to discuss national security reform. Congressman Davis is a strong advocate of national security reform, and he discussed five key concepts he believes should provide the foundation for national security reform legislation. Kenneth Weinstein, CEO of Hudson Institute, introduced Congressman Davis.

Elected in November 2004, Congressman Davis represents Kentucky's 4th District. Davis serves on the Armed Services Committee with assignments to the Subcommittee on Air and Land Forces and the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

During his Army career, Davis served as an Assault Helicopter Flight Commander in the 82nd Airborne Division and later served in the Middle East where he ran U.S. Army aviation operations for peace enforcement between Israel and Egypt. Davis is a former Army Ranger and Senior Parachutist. Following his service in the military, Davis started his own business, a consulting firm specializing in lean manufacturing and high technology systems integration.
