For the Great Decisions Television Series, produced for 22 years by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA) and the Public Broadcasting System (PBS), Dr. Carol Adelman was interviewed along with Kathy Bushkin Calvin, CEO of the UN Foundation, by Ralph Begleiter, former CNN world affairs correspondent, on philanthropy and development. In the program, Dr. Adelman and Ms. Calvin's emphasis on the importance of private giving and investment in creating prosperity abroad was echoed in a segment by Jessica Tuchman Mathews, President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

The Great Decisions Television Series is the longest running T.V. program devoted to international affairs and reaches 70 percent of American households. The 2007 program guests included Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former Secretary Madeleine Albright.

Carol Adelman is a Senior Fellow at Hudson Institute and director of Hudson's Center for Global Prosperity. She served as a career foreign service officer for ten years and as an assistant administrator from 1988-1993 at the Agency for International Development (USAID).
