Hudson Institute Event: Climate Policy Holy Wars

Media Advisory

December 12, 2011
by Hudson Institute

WASHINGTON, Dec. 12, 201--Another UN climate conference, this one in Durban, South Africa, is closing in failure. Environmentalists are angrily denouncing President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for its collapse. Yet many economists fault the environmentalists' own climate agenda as too rigid, too costly, and far too unrealistic.

Are environmentalists and economists locked in a new holy war over climate change? If so, who will win, and who is right? Three of the countries' top experts will discuss these issues on Tuesday, December 13 at Hudson Institute. Hudson President & CEO Kenneth Weinstein will moderate the discussion.

This event coincides with the launch of a new report by Hudson Visiting Fellow Lee Lane, entitled History, Ideology, and U.S. Climate Policy: Beyond the Orthodoxies of Left and Right. The full report is available for download here or on Hudson's website, www.hudson.org.
