Hannah Thoburn

Former Research Fellow

Hannah Thoburn was a Research Fellow at the Hudson Institute, where she focused on Russia, Ukraine, Eastern European politics, and the transatlantic relationship. She currently writes the “Eurasia Uncovered” blog at World Affairs Journal and was a member of the Advisory Council at the Hudson Institute’s Kleptocracy Initiative.

Before joining Hudson, she worked at the Brookings Institution’s Center on the United States and Europe, and the Foreign Policy Initiative. She also served as a Teaching Fellow at Yale University and spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in southern Ukraine. In 2016 she was a Penn Kemble Fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy.

Ms. Thoburn holds an M.A. in International Relations and a Certificate in International Security Studies from Yale University, where she was a Paul D. Coverdale Fellow, and a B.A. in International Affairs from Florida State University. A native of Louisiana, she speaks Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish.
