New evidence supports the determination by human rights experts and victims’ advocacy groups that China has not ended its forced organ harvesting program targeting those imprisoned, as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) claims. Human rights experts find that Falun Gong detainees, as well as Uyghur Muslims and other religious minorities detained in large numbers since 2017, are killed for their organs in China’s soaring transplant industry. Despite the controversy that has dogged China’s transplant sector, many American transplant hospitals and universities collaborate freely with it, through training programs, educational exchanges, research, publications, conferences, and other partnerships. Over 300 of China’s transplant surgeons are documented to have received transplant training in the United States.

In a Hudson Institute panel at the International Religious Freedom Summit of 2022, in Washington, DC, Hudson Senior Fellow Nina Shea discussed this issue with top experts on China’s forced organ harvesting.
