NEW YORK—Hudson Institute honored Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen with its Global Leadership Award at an event in New York City tonight.

President and CEO John P. Walters made the following statement:

“We are honored to host President Tsai. Under her leadership, the U.S. and Taiwan have expanded and deepened their security and economic relationship. She has led a vibrant democracy with great courage and clear-eyed determination to resist tyranny and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific. We are proud that America stands with Taiwan. And Hudson remains steadfast in promoting the security, freedom, and prosperity of America and its allies.”

Hudson’s Global Leadership Award is presented to exceptional individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in service of the principles at the core of Hudson’s mission.
