5G and AI were already considered as being revolutionary even before COVID. Now countries like China are seeking to use these technologies not just for contact tracing but also for surveillance. How will the United States and China compete over the future of these technologies? What must India do? With India already starting to decouple from Chinese hi-tech, how will It balance between strategic interests and the need for cost-effective technology?
