Hudson Institute was founded in 1961 as a new kind of research organization, combining rigorous analysis with creativity and foresight. Hudson took on big problems by offering practical, innovative solutions built on strong American leadership.

For over half a century, Hudson continues our founder Herman Kahn’s vision with pioneering policy research on crucial areas including military technology and preparedness, geopolitical strategy, intelligence, and economics. Hudson has shaped critical policy debates by confronting the most vexing issues head on with unconventional and innovative approaches. At this critical time in our world, Hudson’s mission has never been more important.

The policy work we do today keeps us secure, free, and prosperous for tomorrow.
