Follow the evolution of the pursuit of happiness in the movies with EPPC Resident Scholar James Bowman. Film and cultural critic of the American Spectator, Bowman co-hosted his fourth annual summer movie series with William Schambra, Senior Fellow and Director of Hudson’s Bradley Center for Philanthropy and Civic Renewal.

All movies in this series were screened on successive Tuesday evenings between June 22 and August 3 (excluding July 20) from 5:30 to 9:00 P.M. at the Hudson Institute’s Washington headquarters. Each session began with a brief introduction, and each film was followed by a discussion with the audience.

The July 13, 2010 screening was Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948), directed by H.C. Potter, starring Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, Melvyn Douglas, Louise Beavers, and Jason Robards Sr.
