Letter from the Chair of the Board of Trustees and the President and CEO

Over the past year, Hudson experts advanced policy solutions across the world’s most consequential strategic arenas—from the Indo-Pacific and Europe to the Middle East, Africa, and the Western Hemisphere. Our work strengthened US defense capabilities, deepened cooperation with allies, and promoted America’s economic and technological leadership. The Institute rigorously assessed the growing threats posed by China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea—working closely with policymakers to develop strategies that keep America strong and its adversaries at bay.

At Hudson, we give policymakers the analysis and practical policies to confront the urgent security challenges facing the United States and its allies. Our rigorous research and innovative solutions advance America’s security, freedom, and prosperity.

In 2025, Hudson hosted notable figures such as Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers Stephen Miran, White House Senior Policy Advisor for AI Sriram Krishnan, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.

We were proud to honor Palantir Co-Founder and CEO Alex Karp at our Herman Kahn Award Gala for his success in equipping America and our allies with critical technologies to counter today’s most pressing threats—and for his deep patriotism and commitment to the United States.

As a new administration took office, Hudson capitalized on longstanding relationships with key officials in the national security community, and several of our colleagues have taken positions in the State Department, the National Security Council, the Department of War, and other agencies.

The threat landscape today makes Hudson’s expertise more important than ever. None of this work would be possible without the support of our many friends and partners. Thank you for your investment in Hudson Institute. You have joined with us to maintain and strengthen American leadership for a secure, free, and prosperous future.

Sincerely,

Sarah May Stern
Chair of the Board of Trustees

John P. Walters
President and CEO
