Congressman Mike Rogers

Chairman, House Armed Services Committee & US Congressman, Third District of Alabama

America’s ability to deter conflict depends on its manufacturing capability. Decades of offshoring, consolidation, and underinvestment have strained the defense industrial base and have allowed adversaries to exploit fragile supply chains as well as critical mineral and munitions shortages. In the twenty-first century, industrial strength determines national security.

The Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act seeks to address glaring vulnerabilities across the defense industrial base through targeted investment, deregulation, supply chain security, and workforce development. As America faces converging threats from China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, Congress needs to craft strategic policies that secure the nation against its adversaries and build industrial capacity to respond as threats emerge.

Join House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (AL-03) for a fireside discussion with Senior Fellow Nadia Schadlow on Congress’s role in revitalizing America’s defense industrial base.
