Hudson Institute will host U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island for a one-on-one discussion with Hudson Distinguished Fellow Walter Russell Mead on U.S. national security. The discussion will explore Sen. Whitehouse’s perspective on Iran and the greater Middle East, a revanchist Russia and transatlantic relations, the growing challenge of China, global kleptocracy, climate change and energy policy, and other major issues.

Sen. Whitehouse serves on the Senate Committee on the Judiciary and is ranking member on its subcommittee on crime and terrorism. He is also a member of the Finance, Environment and Public Works, and Budget committees, along with the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Dialogues on American Foreign Policy and World Affairs is a Hudson discussion series moderated by Walter Russell Mead, one of America’s leading analysts of international affairs and the Global View columnist for the Wall Street Journal. The series features influential policymakers and opinion leaders in candid conversation on timely questions of international affairs and national security.
