Yulya Spantchak, Hudson research fellow and deputy director of the Institute's Center for Global Prosperity, delivered a featured presentation before today's USAID-sponsored conference on Diaspora Philanthropy: Private Giving and Public Policy." The seminar explored philanthropy from diaspora communities, its relation to global trends in giving and the increasing role it plays in development. Joining Spantchak on the panel -- the sixth in USAID's "Diaspora Engagement Seminar Series" -- were Kathleen Newland of MPI, Danial Noorani of The Citizens Foundation USA, and Danny Pins of The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.
