**Please be advised: This event will be premiering at 9:00 a.m. EDT, Tuesday, April 21.**

Join Hudson Institute for a conversation with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Missile Defense Policy Dr. Robert Soofer and Senior Fellow at Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Lab and former Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Jim Miller. The conversation will be moderated by Hudson Senior Fellow Rebeccah Heinrichs.

Even as the United States works to stop the COVID-19 virus, other threats to the nation persist. Missile threats are not diminishing or even remaining stagnant; rather, adversaries are investing in more advanced missile capabilities and expanding the size of their forces to coerce the United States and our allies and threaten core interests.

Based on the strategic environment, the 2019 Missile Defense Review outlined the administration’s guidelines to better defend the homeland and enhance the credibility of deterrence. The panelists will discuss the status of some of the Department’s missile defense initiatives, with a special focus on homeland missile defense and the impact on stability.
