Join Hudson Institute Adjunct Fellow Dan Patt and expert panelists Michèle Flournoy, Seth Moulton, and Jay Dryer for a discussion on the imperative for defense transformation and concepts for accelerating new capability development.

Leaders of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command are sending alarming signals on China's potential for military aggression in the region and calling for rapid action. This poses a dilemma for the Department of Defense, which has historically pursued modernization by purchasing highly optimized weapon systems. As such systems can take a decade or more to develop, procure, and field, there simply isn't time for this cycle alone to have a substantial impact on deterring China within the next ten-year period on our present course.

This event brings together a distinguished panel to address creative approaches to advancing military capabilities, from continuous experimentation and development of new concepts of operation, to novel authorities that address joint critical operational needs without buying entirely new weapons systems, to evolutionary improvement and integration of existing systems around key mission needs. Please join Hudson Institute for this timely discussion.
