The Pentagon’s Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) initiative has the ambitious goal of enabling commanders to sense, understand, and manage operations among all U.S. forces, in all scenarios, and at all levels of war. But the U.S. Joint Staff’s top-down effort to implement JADC2’s universal scope could take decades and cost billions of dollars to complete. To integrate the kill chains needed to deter adversaries during the next decade, Pentagon brass may need to overhaul JADC2 and adopt a bottom-up approach that better exploits opportunities in experimentation and digital technology. Please join Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Bryan Clark, Dr. Mark Lewis of the National Defense Industrial Association Emerging Technologies Institute, and Dr. James Stewart of the Navy Surface Warfare Center for a discussion of the way ahead for JADC2.
