China is the elephant in every room—the defining and confounding foreign policy challenge of the current generation. Policymakers in the United States and around the globe seek to address the Chinese Communist Party’s multifaceted threat to national security, economic vitality, and human rights and values. But only strong US leadership can effectively counter China’s rise.

In his latest book Countering China’s Great Game, author Michael Sobolik explores one of the CCP’s most ambitious foreign policy endeavors, the Belt and Road Initiative, to explain both why and how China seeks to reshape world order in its own image. He also offers a blueprint for how Washington can identify and exploit Beijing’s strategic weaknesses.

Join Hudson for a conversation about the book, what the US is doing to counter the increasing CCP threat, and how the US can lead the free world to effectively counter the CCP’s rise.
