Hudson Institute President and CEO John Walters issued the following statement on the passing of Governor Pete du Pont, former chairman of the Hudson board:
"Hudson Institute mourns the death of Governor Pete du Pont. His life is an example of public service for the common good. Among his many contributions in public office, business, law, philanthropy, and public policy, he was chairman of the board of Hudson Institute from 1985-1987. This was a critical period for the Institute and Governor du Pont led it to a range of new and important work.
"Governor du Pont's achievements live on in the policies he advanced, the lives he made better, and the institutions of public service he strengthened. Hudson Institute’s trustees and staff celebrate Governor du Pont’s life and send our deepest condolences to his family and his many friends."
