Hudson Institute Statement on Chandrasekhar's Appointment to Minister of State

WASHINGTON—Hudson Institute’s President and CEO John Walters congratulates Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a member of Hudson's board of trustees, on being sworn in as minister of state in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s expanded Council of Ministers on Wednesday:

"Rajeev Chandrasekhar is a leading Indian policymaker and entrepreneur and has been an important friend to Hudson Institute and the United States. We congratulate him on his new role," Walters said. "Through his partnership with Hudson Institute, he has helped to deepen understanding between India and the United States on key strategic issues."

Chandrasekhar will serve as minister of state for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He was an independent member of the Indian Parliament representing Karnataka in India’s Upper House from 2006 to 2018 before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has served on Hudson’s board of trustees since 2018.
