In July 2015, the UK documentary “From Russia with Cash” frayed political nerves when it revealed how real estate agents in Great Britain can be key enablers for laundering dirty money. The documentary provoked public outrage when real estate agents for multi-million dollar properties seemed willing to accept embezzled state funds from undercover reporters “Boris” (a caricature of a corrupt Russian official) and “Nastya” (his young mistress). “From Russia with Cash” caused such a stir that less than three weeks after the premiere, Prime Minister David Cameron vowed “the UK must not become a safe haven for corrupt money from around the world.”

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film’s creative consultant/UK author and journalist Ben Judah, cast member/Ukrainian journalist Natalie Sedletska, and cast member/London-based anti-corruption fighter Roman Borisovich. The event will be moderated by Karen Dawisha, author of “Putin’s Kleptocracy: Who Owns Russia?” The discussion will focus on the role played by both the United Kingdom and United States as enablers of international grand corruption.

Watch a live stream of the Q&A session beginning at 4 p.m. and tweet your questions using #FromRussiaWithCash.
