Edward Parkinson

Acting CEO, First Responder Network Authority

In 2012, the U.S. Congress adopted legislation that created an unprecedented model for a public-private partnership to build FirstNet, a nationwide public safety broadband network. Today, FirstNet is a national success story, with more than one million connections serving more than 10,000 public safety agencies across the United States.

The success of the network has established the United States as a leader in developing and deploying mission-critical 4G and future 5G standards, making the United States dominant in the global marketplace for public safety technologies.

Join Hudson Institute for a discussion with First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) Acting CEO Edward Parkinson about what it takes to deploy a dedicated public safety broadband–from FirstNet’s first-of-its-kind business model to building cybersecurity into the network from the ground up and how America’s network is helping responders save lives and protect our communities.

NOTE: This event is open to the press. All members of the media should RSVP to press@hudson.org.
