Ambassador Carla Sands

U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark

**This event will premiere on this page at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, June 16.**

Join Hudson Institute for a discussion with United States Ambassador Carla Sands on America's strategic relationship with the Kingdom of Denmark and U.S. efforts to address shared challenges and priorities in the Arctic. The conversation will be moderated by Hudson Visiting Senior Fellow Liselotte Odgaard.

The United States and Denmark face numerous challenges across the region. Russia and China are posturing to expand their regional presence, and there is an urgent need for improved infrastructure like roads, airports, and telecommunications networks to bolster economic development.

What are the regional challenges and priorities, and how are they reflected in the U.S.-Danish alliance? How does Chinese and Russian expansion pose a threat to the Arctic? How is the U.S. addressing infrastructure and environmental problems directly affecting the region?

Ambassador Sands will address these and other areas of strategic concern for the United States in the Arctic.
