Join Hudson Institute for a discussion with the Pentagon's Director of Defense Research and Engineering for Modernization Dr. Mark Lewis. Hudson Senior Fellow Rebeccah L. Heinrichs will moderate the event.

From 5G and AI to cyberspace and biotechnology, the United States faces the enormous challenge of maintaining and improving its technical advantage across a broad range of defense priorities. Dr. Lewis will address these strategic categories and, in particular, hypersonic weapons and hypersonic defense. The conversation will also cover the 11 modernization priorities in Dr. Lewis' portfolio and the implementation of the 2018 National Defense Strategy and what the United States is doing to meet this challenge.
