Virtual Event | Book Talk with Andrew Roberts: The Last King of America

Please be advised: This event will premiere on this page at 3:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, November 17. Register for the event here.

Join Hudson Institute Distinguished Fellow Walter Russell Mead for a discussion with historian Andrew Roberts on his new book, “The Last King of America,” which challenges the conventional American understanding of George III. Despite being skewered as a petty tyrant who later succumbed to mental illness, this new biography argues that George III was a much more humane and benevolent monarch than his detractors claim. Does this interpretation undermine some of the grievances of America’s founding fathers, or suggest an alternative path that America might have taken? Please join us for this thought-provoking discussion.
