Join Hudson Institute for a conversation with German Ambassador to the United States Emily Haber on her country’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and its critical role in the EU. The conversation will be moderated by Hudson Senior Fellow Walter Russell Mead, one of America’s leading analysts of international affairs and the “Global View” columnist for the Wall Street Journal.
Germany has experienced one of the highest rates of infections in Europe, with more than 65,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19. However, a relatively low percentage of those cases have resulted in fatalities so far when compared with other nations. The discussion will focus on the current status of the pandemic in Germany, its role in helping to lead a broader European response, and how the U.S. can best coordinate a response alongside its allies.
