On February 21, the Knesset voted overwhelmingly to back Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declaration of opposition to any “unilateral” recognition of a Palestinian state. But press reports based on interviews with senior American officials suggest that the Biden administration might recognize an independent Palestine once the war in Gaza ends. Doing so before reaching a comprehensive deal between the Palestinians and the Israelis would mark a dramatic shift in Washington’s position.

Join Hudson for a conversation with Senior Fellow Michael Doran, Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA) Director Dan Diker, and JCPA Senior Project Manager Yossi Kuperwasser on what this policy shift could mean in the region and beyond.
