The federal registry regularly includes new bans on Chinese exports and investments, and the specially designated nationals (SDNs) list continues to grow. Why is this happening? Are boardrooms adequately prioritizing their responses to the regulatory and reputational risks of potential complicity in atrocity crimes in China? What do risk and compliance managers need to do to ensure they can remain vigilant? Is there a role for mandatory due diligence requirements?

Join Hudson Senior Fellow Nury Turkel for a conversation with Department of Homeland Security Under Secretary for Strategy, Policy, and Plans Robert Silvers. Silvers previously served as the assistant secretary for cyber policy in the Obama-Biden administration, as well as deputy chief of staff. In his former work as a law partner, he focused his practice on cybersecurity and data privacy, government security review of foreign investments, and investigations and litigation regarding the intersection of law and national security.

The conversation will encompass industry requests for guidance and identifiable inefficacies in entries, tech components of a comprehensive approach to due diligence, and the strategy for garnering support to combat human trafficking and forced labor with international partners and multilateral organizations.
